  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 small pear (grated)
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 1 tsp shelled hemp seeds (optional)

  • Soak 1/4 cup of chia seeds in 1 cup of coconut milk (or your choice of milk) for at least 3 hours or overnight
  • In the morning place some of the mixture in a bowl, grate some pear over it and drizzle with 1 teaspoon of raw honey. For a turbo boost sprinkle over some hemp seeds.

Chia seeds contain from 25% to 40% oil with 60% of it comprising (omega) ω-3 alpha-linolenic acid and 20% of (omega) ω-6 linoleic acid. Both essential fatty acids are required by the human body for good health, and they cannot be artificially synthesised. Animal studies have shown that chia seeds can improve both behavioural and physiological stress responses.
