Nutritional Therapy practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support the body towards optimum health.
Brainstorm Health’s specialism is in helping children who are diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, PANS and PANDAS. We also work with children with behavioural and/or learning difficulties and food and chemical sensitivities – who may not yet have a diagnosis.
Our Approach to Nutritional Therapy
We have a unique way in which we work to support the health of your child. Our Nutritional Therapy approach is not only underpinned by functional medicine principles, but it is tried and tested and is very much focussed on proactively working in partnership with you, the parent, to support your child.
Our Founder Stella Chadwick, a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Functional Medicine Practitioner, has taken all she has learned from working with more than 1500 families, and put this into a practical framework which our Therapists work through with you in a hand-held, step-by-step way.
We concentrate on personalising our approach to your child, his/her symptoms and the concerns you have. We then get to work to accurately investigate the root causes of your child’s symptoms.
Nutritional Therapy – How we Work with You
We work with you and your child, through the following steps:
- Completing an initial new patient questionnaire
- Your first consultation
- Tests and health plan development
- Review consultations and therapy
You can read more about the detail of each of these steps in ‘How we work’.
The Brainstorm Health® Programme (BHP)
There are five phases we work through, during our work with your child. These are covered in varying depth and order, depending on what we discover are your child’s main priorities in their Health Plan. We call these the “Five R’s”.
- Re-Open phase
- Remove phase
- Replace phase
- Reinoculate phase
- Repair phase
We have designed these phases to follow the crucial logical steps to take your child through – in order to cleanse their diet; gut; eating; sleeping and toilet habits; and ultimately restore a healthy gut-brain link. You can read more about the detail of each of these five phases on our ‘Brainstorm Health Programme’ page .
Autism, ADHD, ADD, PANS and PANDAS is our Specialism
Since our inception in 2014, we have specialised in working with children who are diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, ADD, PANS and PANDAS. We also work with children with behavioural and/or learning difficulties and food and chemical sensitivities – who may not yet have a diagnosis.
We have clearly seen the evidence of how important a healthy gut-brain link is for everyone, but even more so for children with an ASD.
